VSC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Vancouver skating club has 2 scholarships available annually to skaters who are graduating or who have recently graduated from high school.

Eligibility:

  1. Must have skated as a member of the VSC for a minimum of 4 years and within the last 24 months.
  2. Must have been a member in good standing (where VSC is the Home club).
  3. In grade 12 at time of application OR finished high school within the past 12 months. B or better GPA.
  4. Active Community or VSC Volunteer is considered an Asset.

Utilization:

Application to a post-secondary educational program is required at time of submission.

Awards:

Two scholarships of $600 each available annually

Qualification Criteria:

  1. Academic Achievement
  2. School and community service and participation
  3. Skating Participation
  4. Demonstration of leadership qualities and good character

How to Apply:

Applicants must complete the 📝 VSC Scholarship Application forms.

The following documentation must accompany the form:

  • Letter from at least one community member (teacher, coach etc.) attesting to leadership and community involvement and service qualities.
  • Cover letter from applicant outlining qualifications and plans for the future
  • Official Copy of the most recent school report card or Official Copy of High School transcript (if available)

Selection:

Applications will be reviewed by the VSC Scholarship committee, chaired by one VSC Board Member. The Scholarship Committee will be comprised of an independent committee of at least 2 non-VSC members to review applications and recommend awards. Winners will be notified in May.

Presentation:

Awards will be presented at the June VSC Annual Awards Banquet. Scholarship award money must be collected within 18 months of award and proof of enrollment at a post secondary institution must be presented for collection.

Deadline for Submission:

Application form and supporting documents must be received by the VSC office no later than 4pm, Thursday, March 5, 2026.
