CANFIGURE PROGRAM

CanFigure Skate is a figure skating development program offered by the Vancouver Skating Cub.  It is designed for skaters who have completed Stage 5 of CanSkate or have equivalent skating abilities and a coach’s recommendation. This program is typically for skaters aged 9-13, with older skaters (14+) needing to inquire separately. CanFigure Skate focuses on teaching the fundamental skills of figure skating, such as edges, turns, spins, jumps, and field moves, in a group lesson format. 

  • Target AudienceSkaters aged 9-13 who have completed CanSkate Stage 5 or have equivalent skills. COACH APPROVAL REQUIRED TO REGISTER.
  • Program FocusIntroduces the basics of figure skating, including edges, turns, spins, jumps, and field moves. Canskate Stage 6 skills as well as Star 1 Skills and Freeskate Assessments.
  • Lesson FormatLessons are delivered in a group setting, allowing for peer interaction and a fun learning environment.
  • ProgressionA minimum commitment of 2 days per week is required. Skaters progress through the program by learning and mastering fundamental figure skating skills.
  • CoachesNCCP certified coaches deliver the program, ensuring quality instruction.
  • EmphasisCanFigure Skate emphasizes skill development, fun, and participation in a supportive environment.

  • Refund Policy - CanFigure ProgramWithdrawal more than 5 business days before start date: Full refund less Skate Canada Fee. Withdrawal less than 5 business days but at least 48 hours before third class: Refund less two classes and Skate Canada Fee. After 48 hours prior to third class: No refunds or credits.

Notes

  • The Skate Canada Membership Fee is an annual fee, valid from September 1 to August 31.
